Almost everyday I go out to catch up Paint and Pardner bring them in. They are out in the wheat pasture south of the house. Even if I don’t ride I like to tie them up for awhile and mess with them. It teaches them patience and keeps Paint from eating 24 hours a day. He is borderline obese right now.

My dog training steers are out with the horses in the dried up wheat pasture.
Would anyone like to do a rain dance?

They follow us to the barn. I wonder why? …..Dogs are penned up today.
This little guy is super friendly.  I use him to train Puncher. He doesn’t seem to mind.  He still likes me.

I like him too.

The black steers on the left are not dog training steers. They are expensive steers. They are supposed to be in another pasture but just came over for a short visit. (Tree fell on the fence) It’s silly, but I like it when they follow me around. It makes me feel like I have friends.

Paint said he doesn’t need anymore friends.

Paint and my fat cat Lola should hang out. The vet laughs whenever I bring her in for a checkup. I swear I keep her on diet food but she is a big boned gal. He knows her siblings and has assured me that she comes from a line of big boned felines.

I like when animals follow me around too. :o)

  3. My Karma is a 20 pound indoor cat who's on 90% diet food. (She does get her tablespoon of canned food in the morning and occasionally regular dry foods for her "treats".) She a big "old lady" cat. 🙂

I love your picture and video stories, too!!!! They're the best. The only time I had animals follow me around outside (and they always did) was when I lived on a farm for three years in Wisconsin (we didn't farm, rented out the pasture and barn). All the barn cats would follow me and my son around wherever we went. Yes. They were friends. My son and I tamed them all enough to be petted and hang out with us–except for one of tomcat (but he often spied on us from farther away). Sometimes I think animals make better friends than a lot of humans do. 😉

It is so wonderful to be able to sit here and look at these pictures while you are telling us a story. It's so relaxing.

What a boost to ones ego having a whole herd follow you around. 😉 Nothing like having a fan club.
