I ride a lot. Which means I think a lot.

My favorite subject …….. no surprise….

I know what you’re thinking. And you’re right. I think about “that” a lot. But not today.  Today I’m thinking about real cowboys and how they handle their horses. And how much I love watching them. How lucky I am to be around them. The real cowboys. Like Kory.

It’s not about the hat and the boots.  It’s about the touch and the feel.

Kory came out to shoe my horses and trim this filly. She hadn’t been handled much.

He worked with her for a while before he picked up her feet.

He got her nice and relaxed and trusting and willing. Making sure her first time was her best time.

Lucky girl.

It’s all about the energy and quiet confidence.

My beloved cowboys.  Can’t live without  ’em.

Love,  Cowgirl Red    aka  Terah

P.S. I have finally figured out one thing in my 57 years and 3 marriages. A man handles his horse the same way he handles his woman.  If he yells at his horse, he’ll yell at you. If he’s rough with his horse, he’ll be rough with you. If he’s “partnered up” with his horse, he’ll “partner up” with you. Watch the way he touches his horse. That’s how he’ll touch you.

P.S.S.  Ride first….. decide later.
