I’m a Snapshooter. I looked it up.

“Snapshooter:  a person who takes snapshots.”

That would be me.

I think Snapshot-ographer is more like it.

I do not take photographs. I take snapshots.

Snapshot: a casual photograph made typically by an amateur with a small hand-held camera.

Or in my case…. an iPhone holstered to my hip from the back of my horse.

:an impression or view of something brief or transitory.

Yes, I am an amateur in oh-so-many-ways.

My horse is too sometimes. When they get the ropes out he gets excited and can’t stand still.

It’s very brief and transitory. Like my marriages.

But every now and then I get lucky. I get the “money shot”.

The Cowboy Money Shot.

I’m able to capture that brief moment in time that shows it how it really was.

And is aesthetically pleasing.

I take hundreds of snapshots from the back of my horse when I ride out with the cowboys.

When I get home, I delete almost all of them.

I’ll save a handful.

I’ll crop and boost the color if they need it. That’s all. No Photoshop.

I shoot from the hip and hope for the best.

In art and life.  I hope to get that money shot.

And sometimes I do.

Love, Cowgirl Red   aka  Terah
