I call this one “The Story of My Life” quilt.
The pattern is an old one called “Trip Around the World”.
I bought it at an antique store in Wichita the same day I saw the Surfer Jesus .
“Trip Around the World” is apropos for my life.
You know the old Johnny Cash, Hank Snow song.
“I’ve been everywhere, man.
I’ve been everywhere, man.
Crossed the desert’s bare, man.
I’ve breathed the mountain air, man.
Of travel I’ve had my share, man.
I’ve been everywhere.”
I’ve lived a lot of places. Texas, Oklahoma, Utah, West Virginia, Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming and Kansas.
(Not in that order)
So, Trip Around the World=Story of My Life .
That’s how my mind works.
Yea, I know. It’s confusing.
Welcome to my world.
My Trip Around the World.
The Story of My Life.
As I’ve said with every quilt I’ve finished ……
This is my favorite one yet.
Love, Cowgirl Red aka Terah
P.S. I was able to find the vintage black check gingham and finish this quilt. It measures 74 X 74. The period is mid-century.
This quilt is on display in the Hutchinson Library for the month of October.
