T.H. and I go to the sale barn every Thursday to buy a few head of steers. Lately he’s been too busy to go and he doesn’t trust me to go by myself so he’s been buying them on the internet from our local sale barn. We’re so modern. Embracing technology like that. Working remotely and all.

Well, Puncher and I are modern too. We work remotely.

When T.H. buys some 800 lb. bulls that need to be turned into steers. And we need to get them into the chute to make that happen.   I “remotely” send Puncher in to do all the work.

She’s good like that.

I’m a better boss if I just stand behind the gate and let Puncher do her job.

And besides ……

I’m too slow to jump over.

Too big to squeeze under.

I know my place …… And that place is ….  behind the gate.

T.H. too.

Puncher is the cheapest, most enthusiastic “hired man”  T.H. has ever had.

Sometimes a little too enthusiastic.

She stacks them up so tight that they burst at the seams.

Now if I could just teach her to hold the tail while T.H. gives this guy a sex change …..

I wouldn’t have to leave the house.

Love,  Cowgirl Red aka Terah

  1. Lisa at Greenbow says

I think Puncher is the bravest dog I know. WOW

  2. Puncher is so handy and such a go getter too! I don’t think, okay I know, I would have the courage to boss the bulls around!

  3. Remote is good. Puncher is brave! I feel badly for the young bulls, though. Ouch!!!

    • Oh Rita. It doesn’t really hurt them. We use those banders. It’s like a big rubber band. Not painful.

  4. She is such an Awesome Dog!!! So glad you took the time and effort to make her an excellent working partner…………Even if all you do is stand behind the gate! LOL!
